Obituary

Peter F. Hryniewicz, Jr., 87, lifelong resident of Suffield and Windsor Locks, beloved husband of Jenny (Juniewicz) Hryniewicz passed away on Sunday, March 22, 2020. Born in Suffield on August 20, 1932, son of the late Jennie (Maznicki) Hryniewicz and Peter F. Hryniewicz, Sr., he graduated from Suffield Schools and Ward School of Electronics with a degree in electronics.

Peter was a U.S. Army Veteran who served during the Korean War. He was employed by Kaman Aerospace for over 41 years, retiring in 2000 as Senior Electronic Technician in the Metrology Lab.

He was a communicant of Saint Joseph's Church, an active member of the Holy Name Society, Knights of Columbus, the Suffield Polish Heritage Society and the American Legion of Windsor Locks. Peter never missed church, and proudly served his country in the Army. He volunteered with Meals on Wheels for 20 years, visited residents at nursing homes, helped run bingo at church and was a member of the K of C bowling league. He was a natural artist, an avid gardener, a great mechanic and a proficient puzzle maker. His favorites were blueberry pie and dancing. Peter and Jenny enjoyed their retirement traveling in their RV across the country, including Alaska. Peter was a loving husband and dedicated father. He was very proud of their children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

My deepest condolences to my best friend, Pattay, and family. It is a blessing to know such a loving and family-oriented family. I will cherish my memories of recent days spent making puzzles with Pattay and having Mr Hryniewicz come join in. He had a knack of plucking out just the right pieces to fit in just the right places! To me, he was one of the few remaining true "daddy's". He will leave a void in presence but a mountain of memories! With love, Doray

It’s impossible to find the right words to say. I’ll miss Uncle Pete and my heart goes out to everyone. I will always remember the sparkle in his eyes when he would reminisce about his youth, places he’d gone with Aunt Jenny, or family stories. It’s hard to find the best way to describe it, but he had a very grandfatherly presence that made us all feel good when he was around. Sending all my love to the whole Hryniewicz family during this difficult time.

To Uncle Pete, you were such a wonderful, dear man and are greatly loved and missed. You truly were a Dziadziu to the entire Hryniewicz clan. We were blessed to share so many moments with you; including your countless stories and funny antics ;)

To Corporal Hryniewicz, thank you for your service. Tim considers it an honor to have also worn Hryniewicz next to U.S.ARMY, and loved the special connection you two were able to share.

To the Hryniewicz family, we are so sorry for your loss. May you know true peace that only God can give. Thank you for your steadfast love.
