Obituary for Robert Dorn
Robert O. Dorn, of Suffield, Connecticut, born February 10, 1923, lived happily 90 years and passed away peacefully, May 15, 2013.
He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Alice; sister Ruth Ensign of West Springfield, MA; children, Katherine (Tom) Meierjurgen of Watkins Glen, NY, Kristina (Hans Rickheit) Dorn of Ashburnham, MA, Ann (John) Beck of Okemos, MI, and William (Victoria) Austin of Marietta, GA; grandchildren, Katherine, Andrew, David, Lauren, William, Benjamin, Kimberly, Adam, Truman and Phaedra. He was predeceased by his parents, Otto and Elizabeth (nee Lempke) Dorn.
A graduate of West Springfield High School, Class of 1942, he honorably served in the U.S. Army, 1942-46. A Mason and devoted grandfather, Robert was an enthusiast of nature, classic cars, trains and camping.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the First Church of Christ Congregational Memorial Fund, 81 High Street, Suffield, CT, 06078.
The family will receive friends and relatives at a Memorial Service followed by a reception at the First Church of Christ Congregational, on June 8th at 10 a.m.
