Wilfred "Tony" George Alderman, otherwise known as "Babe", 84, lifelong resident of Suffield and beloved husband of Alice Alderman for 60 years, passed peacefully on May 10, 2023 at home. Born on March 21, 1939, the son of the late Francis and Adeline (Burford) Alderman.
Tony was employed with many companies including Kulina Farms, Sheldon Agway, Gypsum Construction, Phelps Construction, Feley Brothers, Wagner Swimming Pools, and Bakers Nursery. He worked very hard his whole life since 9 years old and valued his co-workers as family.
Tony was a guy that everyone knew! If you had the pleasure of meeting "Babe" you knew he was the funniest, most loving, and generous heart, always going out of his way, in his own way, to help anyone he met. He enjoyed county fairs, doodle bug contests, country music, cigars, and cocoa cola. You would often see Tony at the local hangouts catching up on the latest gossip with old friends. He enjoyed time with his family best, and cherished his time with his son Jeff and friends, he fondly called the "warriors".
He is survived by his wife Alice Marie (Magrassi) Alderman, son Jeffrey Scott Alderman and his wife Rene of West Suffield. A very special daughter Tammy Lynn Alderman of Unionville. Three grandchildren, Dominique, Danielle, and Jeffrey Jr. He also leaves behind several nieces and nephews. Sister, Louise Welesky of Windsor Locks. Tony was predeceased by his sister Dorothy, and brothers Jack and Melvin.
The family would like to give special thanks to the unwavering support of Tony's caregiver, Annabelle, who was a special friend to Tony and family for the past two years.
