Viola Czerpak Carney
Viola Czerpak Carney, 97, of Suffield beloved wife of the late Walter Carney passed on December 4, 2022. Born in Suffield, on January 2, 1925, daughter of the late Antoni and Amelia (Bocwinski) Czerpak.
Viola was a lifelong communicant of St. Joseph Church, Suffield and Rosary Guild. She loved gardening, known as the gladiola lady, golf, painting and sewing. Viola was very active in State and Town politics, serving on the town committee for over 50 years. She was appointed to the Suffield Housing Authority in 1972, serving as Secretary and then as Chairman and Vice-Chairman.
Viola is survived by her son Walter, Jr. and wife Cyndy of Palm Bay, FL; and son-in-law Allan Tallis of TN. She also leaves her beloved grandsons, Christopher Tallis Jasper, TN and Michael Tallis of Suffield, great-granddaughter Shannon and great-grandson Mark Tallis of Suffield, and her brother, Stanley Czerpak. Viola was predeceased by her daughter, Bridget; sisters Dominica and Sophie Spitz, three brothers Julius, Charles and Raymond; and sister-in-law, June Czerpak.
Calling Hours will be held on Friday, May 5 from 11:00AM- 1:00 PM at The Heritage Funeral Home. Please come celebrate Viola Carney a life well lived.
The Graveside Service will be on Tuesday, December 13 at 2:00PM in St. Joseph Cemetery, Hill Street,
