Obituary for Ronald F. "Ronnie" Rapacki

Ronald F. Rapacki, 68, of Ellington, formerly of Suffield, passed away peacefully on May 2, 2021. Born in Hartford on August 19, 1952, he was the son of the late Francis D. and Lorraine (Kulas) Rapacki. He graduated from Suffield Public Schools and earned his Bachelor’s degree from Western New England College.

He was employed by Gerber Scientific for over 16 years before his retirement in 2007. He was a member of the Suffield Jaycees and was an award winning ballroom dancer. He was a WW II history buff, and enjoyed tinkering with antique machines and radios. He was a dog lover and would often have treats on hand. He also loved spending time with his family and cherished nephew and nieces.

He is survived by a brother James P. Rapacki and his wife Patricia A. of Montgomery, Texas; and sister Sarajane R. Adams and her husband Arthur, of Granville, MA. He was a loving uncle to his nephew and four nieces; Christopher J. Rapacki and his wife Allyson, Erin B. Bishop and her husband Thomas, Kathryn J. Ball and her husband Christopher, Sydney A. Carl and her husband Casey, Hillary L. Adams; and great-nephews Sebastian J. Rapacki, Theodore A. Rapacki, and Marvin J. Ball. Ron also leaves a dear friend Pam Erling, his former dance partner.

The Funeral Services will be at The Heritage Funeral Home 1240 Mountain Road, West Suffield, on Monday, May 10, 2021 at 11AM. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from 10-11AM prior to the funeral service. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Suffield.
