Obituary for Norman Howe "Norm" Newhall

Norman ‘Norm’ Howe Newhall, 78, of Suffield, died at home on January 22, 2021. Born on December 25, 1942, he was the son of the late Roger Howe and Dorothy (Brooks) Newhall. He spent his childhood in Granby, and moved to Suffield when he married in 1963.

He leaves behind his loving wife of 57 years, Nancy P. Newhall; daughter Judy Baird and her husband David of Belchertown, MA and their children, Michael and Kelly; a son Richard Newhall and his wife Anne of East Granby, and their children Ethan, Claire, and Adam.

Norm graduated from Granby Memorial High School class of 1960 and attended Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. He spent many years as an engineer with Hi-G and JM Ney, before helping form a new company, Computer Components, in East Granby. He enjoyed woodworking, photography, camping (Nancy and Norm camped in 49 U.S. states and 11 Canadian provinces and over 750 campgrounds), Boston Red Sox, UCONN basketball, New England Patriots, and waving to other people. Norm was a member of the Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity and a life member of the National Rifle Association.

All funeral services are private and have been entrusted with Heritage Funeral Home, 1240 Mountain Road, West Suffield, CT 06093.
