Neil Anthony Baumert 79, beloved husband of Katherine (Kaleta) Baumert of West Suffield, passed away peacefully on July 13, 2023. Neil was born August 27, 1943 in Manhattan, NY son of the late Frank X. & Helen E. (Romaine) Baumert. He was a graduate from Bryant College in Providence, RI and then joined his father and brother in the family business of Baumert Sales, CO. on Maple Ave., in Hartford where he owned and operated for over 40 years. After selling the business in 1997 he then went to work for Anderson Motors, Springfield Mack, G&S Industrial and finally retiring from Quality Fleet in Belchertown, MA in 2020. He served in the Army National Guard as a Helicopter Mechanic and Flight Engineer for over 12 years.
Along with his wife Katherine he leaves his five children Brenda (Alan) Judkins of New Hampshire, Carolyn (Mark) Spradlin of Georgia, Tony (Alicia) Baumert of Suffield, Richard (Judith) Baumert of Maryland, and Michael Baumert of Colorado; one brother, two sisters and twelve grandchildren.
A mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday July 19, at 10:00 AM at Sacred Heart Church 446 Mountain Rd, Suffield (Please meet directly at church). Burial with military honors will follow in St Joseph’s Cemetery, Suffield. Relatives and friends may call at the Heritage Funeral Home 1240 Mountain Rd, West Suffield on Tuesday, July 18 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM.
