Mary Lawson   Hartley (Galbraith)
Mary Lawson (Galbraith) Hartley, 98, of Suffield, beloved wife for over 64 years of the late Benjamin ‘Ben’ R. Hartley passed away on July 1, 2018. Born in Ludlow, MA; on April 30, 1920 only child of the late Robert and Mary Galbraith.

Mary was graduate of Classical High School and Bay Path Junior College. She was active with the Girl Scouts and Red Cross for decades. Mary was employed as a secretary with ABB Combustion Engineering for 12 years retiring in 1988. Mary and her husband were longtime members of The First Church of Christ, Congregational in Suffield. Mary was active with the Women’s Fellowship and Suffield Women’s Club. She enjoyed many adventurous travels overseas with her husband throughout the years, and their pet kitty cats. Many thanks to the Suffield House for their compassionate care.

The internment for U.S. Navy Veteran of WWII, Benjamin ‘Ben’ R. Hartley with Military Honors; and his wife Mary (Galbraith) Hartley, will take place on September 13, at 10:00 AM in the Massachusetts Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery. Please meet directly at the cemetery; 1390 Main Street, Agawam, MA, 01001. The Memorial Service will follow on Thursday, September 13, at 11:30AM, at The First Church of Christ, Congregational in Suffield with a Fellowship Tea Reception to follow.
