Obituary for Mark Webster Mears

Mark W. Mears, 65, of East Granby, beloved husband of Pamela Mears, passed away surrounded by his loving family on December 23, 2022. He was born in Davenport, Iowa on May 21, 1957, son of the late Donald and Marguerite (Webster) Mears.

Mark was employed as a Quality Engineer for many years in the aerospace industry. However, he was most energetic about owning and operating Peak Mountain Music. He was passionate about sharing his talent for playing guitar with as many people that were willing to learn. He loved hosting the annual recital where he watched all his students perform for friends and family, always so proud of each and every one. He spent years teaching guitar, servicing equipment, and connecting with musicians. He was a lifelong musician, playing in bands for years. Open mic nights, local gigs, and keeping music alive. He was well known for his annual summer party, hosting regular gatherings at his pool, and always was in attendance at every sporting event and graduation for his two girls. Most importantly, he was the most proud father and considerate husband imaginable. ‘His girls’ always knew how much he adored them, and vice versa. He enjoyed cooking dinners, taking care of his precious dog Jewel, and could be found outside tending to the garden.

Mark is survived by his loving wife of 38 years Pamela (Engelke) Mears; two daughters Melissa Mears (Zachary Pilla) and Shelby Mears (Peter Ferioli); and two brothers Dean (Wendy) and Carm (Patricia) Mears.

A gathering to Celebrate his Life will be held on Wednesday, December 28, 2022 from 4:00-6:00 at Heritage funeral Home, 1240 Mountain Road, West Suffield. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the CT Humane society as Mark’s love for animals was strong. https://cthumane.org/
