Obituary for Jenny Katherine Hryniewicz (Juniewicz)

Jenny (Juniewicz) Hryniewicz, 85, widow of Peter F. Hryniewicz, Jr., passed away at home in the presence of family on October 7, 2023. Born in Thompsonville, CT, on October 19, 1937, she was the daughter of the late Chester and Katarzyna (Ludwin) Juniewicz. She graduated from Enfield Schools and later worked for the FAA for many years, retiring in 1999.

Jenny was a communicant of Saint Joseph's Church and an active member of the Suffield Polish Heritage Society and Rosary Guild. She volunteered with Meals on Wheels for five years and was also a hospice volunteer. She loved bingo, watching the UConn Huskies and crocheting blankets. Jenny and Peter enjoyed their retirement traveling in their RV across the country, including Alaska. They were married for 63 years, showing their family a true example of love and respect.

Jenny was a dedicated and compassionate mother. She was very proud of her children and grandchildren, always making lifelong memories of Polish traditions and family parties. Mom and Dad were always very generous with their time and gave from their heart in many ways.

She is survived by her children and their families, Peter III and Mary and their children, Peter IV and Jacqueline; Andrew and his wife Donna and their children, Melissa and husband Peter, Amy and husband Matt, and Katie, and great granddaughter, Adalynn; Patricia and her children, Christopher, Nicholas, and William; Matthew and Judith Gallagher.

She was predeceased by a granddaughter, Valentine, and four siblings, Helen Hryniewicz, Frances Buckley, Bruno Juniewicz and Walter Juniewicz.

Family and friends will gather Saturday, October 14 at 9:00 a.m. at Heritage Funeral Home, 1240 Mountain Road in West Suffield for the procession to Sacred Heart Church, Suffield, for 10:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial. Committal will follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Suffield.
Calling hours will be held Friday, October 13 from 5-7 p.m.
