Obituary for James Arthur "Jim" Hartford
James Arthur Hartford, 69, of Windsor Locks, beloved husband of Susan Berry-Hartford, passed away on May 23, 2023. Born in Hartford, on May 4, 1954, son of the late Carolyn (Beaudoin) and Raymond B. Hartford, Sr.
Jim was a Graduate of Suffield High School Class of 1972. He started with Hertz Corporation, out of High School and had a remarkable 50 year career with the company, meeting all kinds’ celebrities and CEO’s. Jim was a car enthusiast, owning a 1964 corvette and traveling to car shows and enjoying regular car races on TV. He was most content in the company of family watching the Red Sox and Giants games, enjoying everyone’s company.
Jim is survived by his wife of 38 years Susan Berry-Hartford of Windsor Locks, three brothers Raymond B. Hartford Jr. and his wife Carol of Suffield, William Hartford of AR, Paul Hartford and his wife Maryellen of TN; his favorite mother-in-law Barbara Dunn Berry of West Hartford; and his dear kitty Pandora. He was predeceased by two sisters Marie and Betty Mae Hartford, and father-in-law Robert M. Berry.
The Funeral Services will be on Monday June 5, at 10:00AM at Heritage Funeral Home 1240 Mountain Road, W. Suffield. Burial will follow in Buckland Cemetery, Manchester. Friends may call to the funeral home on Sunday, June 4 from 4:00-6:00 pm. Memorial Donations may be made to:
