Obituary for Herbert "Herbie" Sinofsky
Herbert Joseph Sinofsky, 93, beloved husband of Doris Virginia (Tagliabue) Sinofsky, passed peacefully on February 27, 2022. Born in Weehawken, NJ, on January 12, 1929, Herbert was the son of the late Louis and Anna (Kaufman) Sinofsky.
Herbert attended college at NYU, earning his Bachelor’s degree in psychology and Spanish. He was an independent contractor for many years, working as a technical writer for engineering publications and technical manuals. He served in the U.S. Air Force, in radio communications and intelligence, during the Korean War. He was an accomplished man, with many talents and interests: avid HAM radio operator, gardener, woodworker, photographer, astrologer; Herb also enjoyed music, and played the bagpipes. He was known for his wonderful sense of humor and was a true family man.
Herbert is survived by his wife of 60 years, Doris Sinofsky; two sons Dr. David Sinofsky and his wife Caroline of Madison, CT , Darren Sinofsky and his wife Pamela of Suffield, CT; daughter Dina Sinofsky-Tabet of Garfield, NJ; five grandchildren Max, Nicholas, Matthew, Arianna, and Sofia. He was predeceased by a son, Daniel Sinofsky, and his siblings.
Funeral Services will be private on Monday, March 7 at 11:00 AM at the Massachusetts Veteran Cemetery in Agawam with military honors. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to: Connecticut Hospice.
