Dennis Michael  Klaus
Dennis Klaus, 70, of Suffield, beloved husband of Dianne (Castonguay) Klaus passed away on May 6, 2017 in the comfort of his own home surrounded by his loving family. Born in Hartford on November 19, 1946, son of the late John and Janet (Paczosa) Klaus.

Dennis was a lifelong resident of Suffield, with his family owning & operating John’s Foodtown for over 30 years. He attended UCONN and Springfield College, and served in the United States Navy before settling down and starting his family. He enjoyed shooting pool and bowling, and throughout his life he was an avid golfer, especially with his brother-in-law Alan. Dennis was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 48 of years, Dianne Klaus, two daughters, Christine Tautic and her husband Jeff of West Suffield, and Kimberly Harrison and her husband Damion of Windsor Locks; and his son Michael and his wife Nicole of Suffield; grandchildren, Renee, Rachel, and Jack Tautic and Bryce and Makayla Klaus; a brother, Richard Klaus and his wife Barbara of West Suffield; and a sister Cynthia Carner and her husband Michael of Clinton as well as many nieces and nephews and close family and friends, especially his best friends Kerry and Mary Caldon.

Relatives and friends may join the family for calling hours on Wednesday, May 10, 2017 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Heritage Funeral Home, 1240 Mountain Road, West Suffield, CT. The Funeral Service will follow at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be held privately at the convenience of the family. Memorial donations in Dennis’s memory may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF): 20 Batterson Park Rd # 302, Farmington, CT 06032.
