Obituary for Annie Dalene Reay (Dalan)

Annie Dalene Reay (Dalan)
Annie T. Reay, age 90, passed away peacefully with family at her side at her home in Feeding Hills Massachusetts on September 6th 2017.

Annie was born on May 10th, 1927, in Loland Norway, Daughter of Tonnes Dalan and Anne Dalan. Annie married James Reay on October 24th 1970, in Charlestown, RI.

After a beautiful wedding at the Nordic Lodge on Passquisset Pond; Annie, James, and son Paul moved to a home across the lake from the Nordic. In 1972 James Eric Reay was born. Paul and “Eric” had many years of fun and laughter as they grew up together on the lake.

After Annie and James were married and moved on the lake. She worked at the Nordic taking on many jobs but one in particular was a Baker, she mastered making Pastries, Cakes, and Cookies for the great Nordic meals. She was able to show off her extraordinary Norwegian recipes, as well.

Annie was fortunate to have such a paradise on the lake, as she would be outside most times working in her rock gardens and always cleaning up for the next group of folks coming for a Sauna. Often you could hear Jim singing and playing one of the many instruments he loved. Annie loved to knit and sew, she made numerous Norwegian sweaters for many people and even newborns and little tikes. Annie also belonged to a Woman’s Golf League where she played once a week and also played with Jim, Paul and Eric.

Annie is survived by sisters. Olga, Elisabeth, Thelma; a daughter Ann Mitchell and her husband Jim; three sons; Kenneth Lindeland and his wife Brenda, Paul Lindeland and his wife Diane, James Eric Reay and his wife Colleen; and many grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Annie was predeceased by brothers and sisters; Herman, Bertha, Aagot, Hjordes, Nana, Alf, Ingeborg, and Sofie; and grandson Collin.
