Obituary for Allan Ray Tallis
Allan Ray Tallis, of Soddy Daisy, TN and formerly of West Suffield, CT, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 15, 2023. Allan was born on April 14th, 1944, in Harford CT, son of the late mother Marjorie (Culver) Tallis and the late father Harry Tallis.
Allan attended Suffield High School Class of 1963. He was a Suffield High School athlete and lettered in baseball, soccer, and basketball.
Allan was in the U.S. Air National Guard Reserves and served on the Suffield Police Department for 10 years and worked for 30+ years in the power industry for CE/ABB/Alstom.
Allan and his wife Bridget ran a small farm raising beef cows and horse hay along with running a vegetable stand. He enjoyed raising his family in Suffield and coached many successful little league and soccer teams before moving to Soddy Daisy, TN.
Allan is survived by two sons, Christopher Tallis of Jasper, TN; and Michael Tallis of Suffield, CT; two grandchildren Shannon and Mark; one brother-in-law Guy Carney and his wife Cindy, of Palm Bay, FL, Additional surviving family members Jeannette, Alfred and AJ Charman, Karen, Tommy, and Jeffery Mango.
The Funeral Service will be on Friday June 30 at 10:00AM at the Heritage Funeral Home, 1240 Mountain Road. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery. Calling Hours will be at the funeral home on Thursday, June 29 from 5:00-7:00PM.
In lieu of flowers memorial donation may be made to a Future Farmers Association of your choice.
