Kyle Clifton Thresher, 87, of West Suffield, Connecticut beloved husband of the late Dorothy Zukowski Thresher for 58 years, passed away peacefully on Tuesday November 8th at St. Francis Hospital with his family at his side.

Born in Hartford, Connecticut on May 16, 1929, son of the late Clifton and Anna Kraiser Thresher, Kyle was a life time resident of West Suffield and communicant of St. Joseph's Church in Suffield, where he was also a long time commentator. Kyle spent his early childhood growing up on Spencer Street and working the tobacco fields while attending the South St. School. He met the love of his life Dorothy while attending and graduating from Suffield High School in 1946. He proudly served his country as a Sergeant in the U.S. Air Force as a member of a B-26 Bomber crew surviving a horrific crash. After an honorable discharge, Kyle returned to Suffield where he and Dorothy raised a family of seven active children. He worked over 35 years at Hamilton Standard in Windsor Locks before finishing his career at ASE Prescision in Agawam, MA. Kyle enjoyed his family, road trips to Vermont with Dorothy, watching sports, farming and talking with his children and watching grandchildren grow. He was known for his sense of humor, words of wisdom, and booming heartfelt laugh.

Kyle was predeceased by two sons, Mark and Paul. He is survived by his son Stephen and wife Helen of West Suffield, Thomas and wife Maureen of Norwalk, CT, Michael who the family is thankful for helping their dad live a fulfilling life at home, daughter Elizabeth Thresher Anson and her husband Kent of Stratham, NH, and Marie Thresher and her husband Bob Orem of Williston, VT. Kyle was predeceased by a sister Judy and is survived by two brothers Dennis of Enfield and Marvin of Windsor Locks, CT.

Kyle enjoyed being a grandfather. He was proud of his grandchildren Allison, Elizabeth, Catherine, Thomas, Jason, Michael, William, Jennifer, Kelly and David. He was also a loving great grandfather to Liam, Connor and Vincent.

Family and friends are welcome to join in a celebration of his life on Saturday, November 12, at 9AM from the Heritage Funeral Home 1240 Mountain Road, Celebrated by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10AM at St. Joseph Church, Suffield. Burial will follow with military honors in St. Joseph Cemetery, Suffield. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday, November 11, from 3-6PM.
