Obituary for Eleanor Daniels (Crane)

Eleanor (Crane) Daniels (83) passed away peacefully on Monday, October 1st. Born in San Pedro, California to William & Bernice (Budnick) Crane and raised in New Britain Connecticut. Eleanor was a beautiful, artistic and talented lady. She was crowned Queen of the New Britain Centennial celebration in 1950. Upon moving to Miami she went on to be involved in the banking and public relations fields.
She had a brief stint as a cabaret singer and had a small part in the Frank Sinatra movie “High Hopes”. Moving back to Connecticut in the early 60’s she did public relations work for the Travelers Insurance Co. at the 1964 New York Worlds Fair and also for the Eastern States Exposition. Upon moving back to Florida she was the assistant to the President of the University of Miami while she continued pursuing her true passion of art.
She is survived by a brother Gerald Crane and his wife Janeene of West Suffield, CT and several nieces, nephews and great niece & great nephews.
Friends and family may call to the Heritage Funeral 1240 Mountain Road in West Suffield, on Monday October 8, from 4-5:30pm with a Memorial Service at 5:30pm. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
